bivouac cacao ceremony

This event is part of Bivouac's Unplugged Series. It will consist of a cacao ceremony and meditation circle.

We will begin with the cacao ceremony where we'll educate on cacao (physical and spiritual benefits) and drink ceremonial-grade cacao from Nicaragua (the same cacao that is now available on Bivouac's menu!). Cacao can produce heart-opening, energizing, playful, blissful, yet grounding and centering effects.

After we share our first few sips together, we will set intentions. We will then move into a seated, guided meditation.

After the meditation, we will open the space for pulling an oracle card, journaling, and sharing (if you choose; silence is always welcome). This is a potent opportunity to deeply connect yourself and others in the community.

No meditation or cacao experience is necessary.

This event will take place at Bergen Park (if weather cooperates) or Bivouac's tasting room. If the weather cooperates, we will meet at Bivouac and walk to the park together.

We will be seated for the majority of the event (~an hour). Please wear appropriate clothing (comfortable for sitting) and bring water. We will provide cushions to sit on, but please bring anything you may specifically need to feel comfortable sitting on the ground (yoga mat, blanket, etc). Feel free to also bring a journal or anything else you may wish to use after the ceremony to capture any thoughts, emotions, or energies that arise.

It is easiest to connect with the spirit of cacao on an empty stomach and in the absence of other substances (caffeine, alcohol, marijuana, etc). Please contact us ahead of time with any food allergies, if you are taking any prescription medications, including (but not limited to) antidepressant, cardiac, or blood pressure medications, and/or are pregnant or breastfeeding, so we can discuss modifying your cacao dose.

Pre-registration is required! To preserve the intimacy of the ceremony, space is limited! We recommend registering as soon as possible to reserve your spot.
